Thanks, guys, for organizing this information in one place. Some I knew - like cash is better than food because food banks can make those dollars go much farther. I’ll repost this to friends. Keep fighting!
I put in my zip code and the nearest food bank is 4+ hours away in Spokane?! That can’t be accurate. And how do we support the kids eating on weekends program?
Talk to the principal of a nearby school about your faith or other organization helping their families. Our church does a program we call Gap Pack, and every year the elementary school next door has asked for help for more families. It makes such a difference for these kids.
Friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. can organize mutual aid groups to support each other and decrease the stigma of asking for help. Everyone has skills or resources to share. Help is based on mutual relationships in which we care for each other.
I appreciate the suggestions and have shared. Please be more thoughtful of the image you choose in the future. The little girl is lovely, but her photo perpetuates a myth that black and brown children are the primary beneficiaries of food assistance. Numbers prove that is not true.

There are 200+ food banks connected to Feeding America. There are many more food banks in America! Definitely google food banks in your area.
Similarly, the best way to know what backpack/weekend programs there are in your area is to contact the local school districts. ❤️

The photo was from Feeding America's homepage. But point taken.
Went to look at volunteer sign ups in local community, all full!! I will donate instead.
